Electronic Arts and FOX Digital Entertainment will be launching a free to play Simpsons mobile game for iOS that is anticipated in the next coming weeks. As outlined by CNET, The Simpsons: Tapped Out will become available on iOS devices such as the iPhone, iPad and Android devices which will enhance EA’s free-to-play portfolio even further. The game is one of the biggest titles being released this year and will be free for everyone to download. Like other games that utilizes the free-to-play business model, there will be an option for players to purchase virtual currency called doughnuts that can speed the progress of the game.

The Simpsons: Tapped Out was developed with the aid of writers and voice actors of the authentic American animated sitcom created by Matt Groening. The game begins with Homer unintentionally triggering a nuclear explosion that wipes out Springfield. The task of the player is to rebuild Springfield in their own vision and undertake quests using different characters that are unlocked as you go along.
